The short answer
All-on-4® replaces a full arch of missing or failing teeth with a fixed, non-removable bridge anchored on four strategically angled implants. At Pebble Beach Dental, most patients leave the day of surgery with fixed temporary teeth, then receive custom permanent teeth after 3–6 months of healing.

What makes All-on-4® different from dentures?
A conventional denture sits on the gums and is held by suction or adhesive. Over time the jawbone underneath shrinks, the fit loosens, and chewing power drops to a fraction of natural teeth. All-on-4® bolts a full arch of teeth onto implants, so nothing moves, nothing comes out, and your bite returns to near-natural strength.
Because the two back implants are tilted, they engage the denser bone toward the front of the jaw. That is why many patients who were told they needed extensive bone grafting can have All-on-4® without it.
Life after full-arch implants
Patients tell us the biggest change is not how their smile looks — it is how they live. Steak, apples, corn on the cob and nuts come back on the menu. Photos stop being something to avoid. Many say they look ten years younger.
Care is simple: brush twice daily, use a water flosser around the bridge, and see us for professional maintenance visits. We stand behind every implant we place with an implant warranty.
- Eat what you love again
- No adhesives, no nightly soaking
- Helps preserve jawbone and facial structure
- Natural-looking, custom-shaded teeth
Upper, lower, or both arches?
You can treat one arch or both. Some patients start with the arch causing the most trouble and complete the other later; others do both at once to save on sedation and surgery time. Your 3D plan shows the options side by side so you can choose what fits your goals and budget.

All-on-4® Full-Arch Implants FAQs
Can I really get teeth in one day?
Most patients leave surgery day with a fixed temporary arch. A small number need a short healing period first; your 3D scan tells us in advance.
How long does All-on-4® take overall?
From consultation to final teeth, most patients take 4–8 months. You have functional, presentable teeth the entire time.
Is All-on-4® painful?
The procedure is done under local anesthesia with sedation available so you can sleep through it. Recovery is usually described as similar to having several teeth removed.
What if I have bone loss?
Angled back implants often avoid grafting. If grafting is needed, we can usually do it the same day.
Can I switch from dentures to All-on-4®?
Yes — current denture wearers are some of our happiest All-on-4® patients. Bring your denture to the consult.
How do I clean All-on-4® teeth?
Brush twice daily, use a water flosser under the bridge, and keep professional maintenance visits so we can check the implants.
Will my new teeth look natural?
Yes. Each arch is custom-designed with you for tooth shape, length and shade.
Is All-on-4® the same as permanent dentures?
People often use “permanent dentures” to describe All-on-4®. It is a fixed implant bridge that only your dentist can remove.
