The short answer
Dentures are the lowest upfront cost but sit on the gums and allow bone loss to continue. Implant-supported options cost more initially but stay fixed, restore chewing strength, and help preserve the jaw. Many Fair Oaks patients choose a middle path: snap-on dentures held by two to four implants.
- Lowest upfront cost
- Traditional dentures
- Most natural feel
- All-on-4® fixed
- Middle ground
- Snap-on overdentures
- Free 3D consult
- Yes
The three main options
Traditional dentures replace teeth with a removable acrylic base. Snap-on implant dentures use two to four implants to lock a removable denture in place. Fixed full-arch implants (All-on-4®) attach a non-removable bridge to four or more implants.
Every option can look beautiful. The differences are in stability, chewing power, upkeep, and what happens to your jawbone over the next 10–20 years.
Thinking long term
Dentures usually need relines and eventual replacement as the jaw changes. Implants are designed to last a lifetime, and many patients find the long-term value of a fixed solution outweighs the higher upfront cost — especially with 0% financing.

Implants vs. Dentures FAQs
Are implants worth the extra cost?
For many patients, yes — because implants are designed to last for life and protect bone. We will show you the numbers for your case.
Can I start with dentures and get implants later?
Yes, but bone loss over time may require grafting later. Planning early keeps more options open.
Which option is easiest to clean?
Snap-on dentures come out for cleaning. Fixed arches are cleaned in the mouth with a brush and water flosser.
Do implants feel like real teeth?
Fixed implant arches feel the closest to natural teeth of any tooth replacement.
